There are generally the following types of plush toy fillers commonly used:
1. PP cotton
Commonly known as: doll cotton, filling cotton, also known as filling cotton, made of recycled polyester staple fiber. It is a common artificial chemical fiber, mainly consisting of regular fiber and hollow fiber. This product has good resilience, strong swelling, smooth hand feel, low price, and good warmth retention, and is widely used in the toy filling, clothing, and bedding industries. PP cotton is the most commonly used filling material for plush toys.
2. Washed cotton
Water washed cotton is made from cotton fabric, which is specially treated to make the surface color and luster of the fabric softer, and the hand feel softer. It also reflects a sense of old material in slight wrinkles. This type of clothing has the advantages of being resistant to deformation, fading, and ironing when worn and washed. The surface of a good washed cotton cloth also has a uniform layer of plush, which has a unique style.
3. Down cotton
Produced by special processes with different specifications of ultrafine fibers, they are called down cotton due to their quality resembling down. Some also refer to them as silk wool or hollow cotton. This product is lightweight, has a delicate feel, is soft, has good insulation, is not easily deformed, and will not penetrate through silk.
4. Black cotton
In addition to the above three, there is also a plush toy filler called black cotton. Black heart cotton generally includes fibrous industrial waste, medical fibrous waste, recycled fibrous substances, waste clothing, and other waste fiber products. These raw materials used for processing do not comply with relevant national standards. The state prohibits the use of black cotton as a filler.
